Self-taught artist, naïve, outsider, feminist. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, based in Finland since 2018. Her paintings reflect an inner state of mind, empty spaces, tiny details, elements of unrest, female universe of open narratives.
Luciana Mariano
Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil (24.03.1971). Has a bachelor degree in Marketing by Mackenzie University (Brazil, 2001). Third generation of naive artists, she grew up among paints, palettes and brushes, painted since childhood but never thought of her paintings as “art”. In fact, she considered it so silly and personal that all her paintings were discarded shortly after finishing. In 2008 her production became so intense that she didn’t have the time to destroy them anymore and the excess work became her first exhibition. Since then she has already produced over 700 pieces; exhibited and sold her works all over the world. She lived for a while in Brazil and travelled extensively in Italy, United States, France, Germany, England, Russia, Belgium and Denmark, until finding her home and heart in Finland in 2018. She paints everyday, 365 days a year, sometimes 366.
